High pH can affect the working function of chlorine, if the pH level in your pools is too high the chlorine becomes less effective. The amount of adjustment and frequency of adding pH Plus or pH Minus can relate to the type of water area you are in, a soft water area will require less acid to adjust the pH in a hard water area.

pH Minus is used to bring the pH level down in your Swimming Pool or Hot Tub. Correct pH levels are essential to ensure the correct sanitisation of your Hot Tub and Swimming Pool

The ideal pH for pool water is 7.5 but between 7.4 and 7.6 is considered acceptable. Alkalinity should range from 80-120 ppm, which should help reduce changes in pH, which can result in scaling and corrosion.

Problems associated with high pH levels in Swimming Pool water could result in you not having clear water it would become cloudy. Also other problems would be either getting a build up of scale or growth of algae.

  • Perfect pH level is 7.5
  • Maintaining that level will reduce algae growth, scaling and cloudy pool water.
